This peach-gold Gem is barely mellowed by the passage of a century. Lustrous and devoid of marks. Carbon is virtually absent. Sharply struck save for slight softness on the VDB initials. A perpetually popular low mintage issue from the beginning of the long-lived series. Markedly less than the $7250 Trends indication or the $7000 CU list.
A thoroughly lustrous key date Premium Gem that boasts unabraded, carbon-free surfaces. Wheat-gold and orange with glimpses of yellow. The strike is precise aside from the VDB initials, which are nonetheless distinct. Certified in a prior generation holder. Neither PCGS or NGC has graded any Reddish Brown examples finer. Priced below the Collectors Universe list of $6500!
A pristine medium grade set as follows: Lincoln Cent-PF63 RB, Jefferson Nickel-PF63, Mercury Dime-PF65, Washington Quarter-PF65 and Walking Liberty Half Dollar-PF64.
Priced below the Trends of $100 and far below the Collector's Universe list of $350! Mintage was 315,570,000 circulation strikes and the pop for this coin is 747/59. Brilliant Red!
A pristine medium grade set as follows: Lincoln Cent-PF63 RB, Jefferson Nickel-PF63, Mercury Dime-PF65, Washington Quarter-PF65 and Walking Liberty Half Dollar-PF64.
A beautiful high grade specimen that is completely white! NGC pop is 3/5 from a mintage of over 1.4 million circulation strikes! Trends is $3000 and the CU/PCGS list is $3400.
Numismatic experts estimate that only 25 of these proof examples were minted for use in Proof Sets of the year. John Jay Pitmman never acquired an 1845 Proof Half Dime for his collection despite years of searching. Pop is 2 with 2 graded higher. From the Richmond Collection and priced below the Trends of $30,000 and considerably less than PCGS Collectors Universe list of $40,000! Keep in mind that a Bowers and Merena auction brought $27,500 for a comparable coin in March of 1998. A richly toned coin with an overlay of turquoise.
